I wonder if God sent an angel to wake me up. Maybe with that charge, He gave the angel the ability to affect the environment around them.
I wonder if the angel pondered on how best to wake me up, to help me out, to prepare me for a very important weekend.
Hmm. Would a metaphorical snooze button be beneficial? Maybe extra thoughtful?
Yeah, that would be nice.
It’s possible an angel wasn’t involved at all, but I like to think so. (It’s more fun that way.)
Now, whether an angel was involved or not, I believe that Heavenly Father had a hand in waking me up.
Why else, on Friday August 29th, did my calendar fall off the wall?
Of all the days, of all the mornings, of all the possible times, did it fall on the very morning I needed to wake up before my alarm?
You see, my alarm was set for 7:40am.
But at 6:52am, one side of my calendar detached itself from the wall and made quite the ruckus.
It woke me up, and I asked Alexa what time it was. Knowing full well that the other side would not be able to maintain the weight of the calendar and the whole thing would fall shortly, I rolled over and closed my eyes again.
Eight minutes later, at 7:00am sharp, the entire calendar came crashing down.
Half startled, I woke up again.
All I could do was laugh and giggle.
“Okay! Okay! I’m up! I got the message!”
Climbing out of bed, I studied my scriptures, got dressed, brushed my teeth, drank a protein shake, packed the rest of my food, and loaded my car.
YSA conference, here I come!
I had just enough time to finish everything before my friend showed up, ready to head up north. We wanted to make it with plenty of time to park, check-in, and find a good seat for Sister Tamara Runia’s talk that morning.
Had I gotten up at the time my alarm was set, I would have been in big trouble.
But God knew. He knew this was important to me. He knew how badly I needed to get to the YSA conference on time.
So He woke me up.
He is so good.

I know God loves you, too.
I know you have Heavenly Parents that are anxious to hold you close and bring you home.
I know that if you look for Their hands in your life, you’ll find it everywhere.
In big ways.
In small ways.
In the little details.
When you see Their hands in your life, it will be clear that They care about you and want you to succeed. To come unto Christ. To become more like Them. To make it home.
I’ve seen Their hands in my life.
In big ways.
In small ways.
In the little details.
They show me that They care about me, are aware of me, and love me.

I love the story! It’s so sweet and simple. I actually came on here first though to share this message that I heard in seminary yesterday (you maybe have already watched this video, idk), and it reminded me of you! Especially the words he shares at the end of his message, though they are applicable to everyone and very powerful.
(This video I think is just a small section of the longer full thing which actually came out six months ago, which I find is very interesting since I think around six months ago you didn’t know what your plan would be for school yet, and this video basically talks about all the concepts that you were going through when you weren’t sure if you would get into school or not. I just think there’s a very interesting connection in that, and if you watch it I hope you’ll see what I mean!).

Thank you so much for sharing Isabella! I just checked, I listened to this on Apple podcasts on March 14th, the day it came out. It definitely brought me comfort. At that point, I had found out I got into BYU, but I was really stressed for the future. I was stressed about moving and all that that would mean for me. So you’re right, this was totally applicable for me, and I enjoyed the reminder. You’re the best!
