As a high school senior, economics and government are required classes to graduate. They are both one semester. I finished economics last semester and am now in American Government. Last week, my teacher was gone for two days and had planned our assignment via canvas online. On Thursday, the first sentence for his lesson was: âUnless you were living under a rock or were grounded from all forms of electronics, some very significant events happened yesterday in Washington DC.â (my gov teacher 2021).
Soooo I guess all of that story is me saying: unless you live under a rock or have completely shut out the world, you have probably noticed that there is a lot of chaos in our midst. And itâs scary. For once, I really donât want to follow Elsa âinto the unknown…â Iâd much rather have it all planned out and have the nation go back to peaceful rest…well as much as we possibly could. No more riots and controversies tearing relationships apart, no more division from differing views, no more hatred for others, and no more disasters. Simply put…no more mass chaos. No more COVID. (I tried to slide that in there stealthily but I bet you noticed right away and groaned/frowned. Ya, me too.)
Chaos is uncomfortable. Chaos is scary. Chaos is insecurity and uncertainty. Chaos is not the move. This ainât it, chief! (This ain’t it, chief is a humorous social media phrase used to signal that someone thinks someone else’s statement is utterly wrong or idiotic.)
Okay so thatâs me trying to be funny and relatable…so if youâve ever heard the phrase, there you go. I brought it back. Anyway, back to what I was saying…
Confusion and chaos are not fun; they can be scary and full of danger. So in this time of chaos, I bet youâve felt these feelings of confusion and frustration at the unknown and at the controversies and riots. I most definitely have. However, this is when I feel so extremely grateful to have a strong foundation on which I cannot fall. From the Book of Mormon, in Helaman 5:12, it says, âAnd now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.â
Helaman 5:12 (scroll down to verse 12)
I am so beyond grateful to know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have not forgotten about us. During this perilous time, they are still watching over us, cheering us on, and sending help and angels our way.
For those of my readers who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, you know of the plan of salvation. For those who are not, see pictures for a general idea. (Also, Iâm going to find a video to explain what it is in greater detail if you want further explanation! I encourage you to watch it!)
The Purpose and Meaning of Life
These pictures donât talk about the second coming, but we believe that Christ came once to the earth in mortal birth, and that he is coming again in his full glory. However, before he can come, several things must happen first. There are too many details for me to explain, but there are many resources in which you can fully study this topic.
Anyway, the prophecies are that before he can come, there will be chaos: wars, rumors of wars, plagues, evil, division, attacks on truth, and a myriad of other things…my point is, the world is going to be crazy and at war with itself. There will be chaos and destruction everywhere.
Itâs happening people! Chaos is in our midst! And even though it is super uncomfortable and scary and uncertain, I find comfort in it. (Comfort in the chaos? Kyra are you crazy?!)
I find comfort in the chaos because I know it is part of the plan. Everything is going as it needs to go; the work is moving on. So amidst the chaos, I know that He has not forgotten us. If anything, his love is ever present.
One more thing before I wrap this up. đ
I went to mission prep on Sunday. It is a class where you can go to prepare for your mission if you choose to go on one. To my pleasant surprise, the entire lesson was on the plan of happiness/the plan of salvation! (They are the same thing.) Iâve only gone to mission prep twice in my life, and the second time I have ever gone, the lesson was about the plan of salvation. To me, this is a very clear sign that He is aware of me and is supportive of this topic.
I know with all my heart that he is aware of you. Whether or not you have a testimony or whether or not you have any idea if he exists, he loves you and knows you. He has never forgotten about you, and he never will. You have a purpose, and you matter to him and to so many!
So please, during this chaos, when you find yourself flying sky high with stress, remember that all of this scariness is part of the plan. God has not forsaken us, nor will he ever.
Another amazing post! I’ve been working to find comfort in the chaos too–it helps for me to think of everything I’m grateful for, and believing that everything that’s happening is part of a plan. It’s all meant to be.
Love it!!! T
I agree! It is so important to remember God’s plan, especially during these turbulent times. We may be walking blindly but God will never leave us astray. You said all that in your post and more. Thank you so much for sharing! I definitely felt the spirit while reading.
Aww this is the sweetest comment! Thank you for reading; it means a lot to me! I hope you subscribed to the email list so I can send you emails when I post next! Have a wonderful day!
I loved your post Kyra! Iâll say it until the day I die, you have an amazing talent to write and communicate happiness and hope!
This is so beautiful! Thank you for taking the time to write and share your thoughts. I completely agree with everything you said. What a blessing that we know where to turn for peace during these crazy times. Love you, sweet Kyra! â¤ď¸
