I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for something … prior to my blog.
A couple of friends encouraged me to start a podcast, and I finally took the plunge!
When trying to come up with a name, I decided to go for the continuation aspect. So, my podcast is called Imperfectly Broken The Podcast.
Real original, I know. 😜
In trying to merge them together, I decided to post my episode notes on my blog with links to the episode!
Please know that the notes are very imperfect (hehe). But here they are anyway 😊
First episode
What to expect:
- Starting off
- Catch 22
- Journey is the process
- Quote of the day
- Eustress vs distress
- Seminary seminar story
- Word of the day
First episode! So nerve wracking but exciting!
-paid for the program just over a month ago
-I was scared: catch 22, (define catch 22)
-a dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions.
-now that I’ve finally bitten the bullet and taken the plunge, I feel so excited. The possibilities for episodes are endless!
-so many ideas
-don’t know where to start
-talking to a friend about how excited I am
-I recognize that it will be family and friends at the beginning, but hopefully it will grow with time
-the journey is in the process
-but what does that mean?
-ski analogy
-the satisfaction comes from the process
“Outcome is the process through which process can become the outcome”
-and that’s what’s awesome. I don’t think I’m worried about it being successful or whether or not it grows. Of course I want it to, but my main goal isn’t for money, success, or fame. The goal is to learn and grow, and the process is to embrace imperfection and be brave amidst this scary and unknown thing.
-here’s the quote of the day:
“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less important whether I am afraid.” —Audre Lorde 1997 from “The Cancer Journals”
-eustress vs distress
-excited for a date, ready for a bball game or nervous for it (negative way)
-Being nervous/excited can be good … because you cared/it mattered to you
-doing something that you care about and something that matters to you is pretty great
-and whether or not you’re successful in it doesn’t ruin the experience you had getting there. What did you learn from the process?
-seminary teaching gig
-so, in conclusion, thank yourself for being brave. Be proud that you did something scary.
-the process can be rewarding and make the outcome more satisfying and miraculous
-final story: couldn’t find adapter for my Sunday school lesson
-word of the day: reticent
-don’t be reticent. Be brave. Dare boldly.
Be communicative. Be confident.
-YOU … can do this.
What to expect coming up:
- Explanation of the jingle and some fun background information about it
- More fun and relevant stories
- More about the seminary seminar
- Talking to people
- Getting to know more people
- What that means and why it matters
Thank you for listening.
Embrace imperfection. Find meaning, satisfaction, and joy from the journey.
