A Total Touching Tender Mercy

I should have been in a car accident today. I should have.

Let me explain:

There was a car turning left, and they were just sitting in the extra lane in the middle. There wasn’t a light, a stop sign, or anything else telling me to stop, and I knew that it would be more dangerous to stop in the middle of the road to let them in. Instead, a car ahead of the car in front of me stopped randomly. This caused the car in front of me to stop suddenly. I had to slam, and I mean slam on my breaks to stop. This is when you slam on your breaks so hard that the break starts to wiggle. It was terrifying. My heart was racing, and my heart constricted in fear.

Honestly, for a second, I was expecting the worst. I expected the collision of our two vehicles. I expected to crash. I expected to whack right into them. I was shocked….shocked to see that I hadn’t hit them. I hadn’t hit them!!! Relief washed over me.

To my great pleasure, the car in front of me rolled down his window and flipped me off. It was irritating, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to feel so grateful and relieved for this tender mercy. A total, tender mercy. A touching, tender mercy. A total, touching, tender mercy.

So, I wanted to come on here and just tell you that He is there. He is watching over you. He is aware of our needs. He knew that I just couldn’t handle the wrath or stress that a car accident entails. He knew. For that, I am oh, so grateful.

Why “Imperfectly Broken?”

I named this site “Imperfectlybroken” because I broke my arm in 2019. I had to have 6 surgeries on it, and it was a long and tedious process to get it fixed. Therefore, my arm was “broken.” Not only was my arm broken in 2019, but I’ve lived my life with a constant broken heart: depression. Depression ensures a broken heart and at times, a broken soul. I added the “imperfect” to establish that I am a human being; I am imperfect. I make mistakes. I am changing. I am becoming. In the end, it all comes together to become “ImperfectlyBroken.com”
